Saskatoon Maternity Photographer When to book a maternity session?

Updated: May 28

As a Saskatoon Maternity and Newborn Photographer I know how important this time of your life is. I get asked a lot when is the best time to book a maternity session. I thought I will write about it here in more detail. Hope you enjoy it!

When is the best time to take maternity photos?

Oh pregnancy! The most beautiful time of your life. Only three wonderful or not always so wonderful (looking at you tri 1) trimesters until you have your beautiful baby. You are probably already making a list of all the things you will need before the big arrival.

I often get asked when is the best time to book your maternity portraits. The answer is simple: when your bump is big enough to be seen from sitting and laying down, but you are still comfortable enough to move around. For most women, this is between weeks 28-34 of their pregnancy, or 7 to 8 months.

In your last month of pregnancy you may experience some swelling and puffiness and you might be a little bit more tired than ever before.

When is the best time to book my maternity session?

As soon as you reach 12 weeks you can book your maternity portraits! I advise mamas to book their packages as far in advance as possible, as my availability dwindles quickly with time and I am often booked especially If you are hoping for a weekend date,. I provide an extensive collection of gowns and accessories, and will pose, and touch up your images for the most flattering and gorgeous results.

What if my pregnancy is high risk?

If your pregnancy is high risk we can schedule earlier than our usual 28-34weeks to make sure that you will have your portraits taken.

By booking early we also have more time to plan and design your session just the way you imagined <3

Book your session before baby arrives!
